Looking For A Kiss In Kristinehamn (TMQ/FAB Ruins & Ashford Remand Joint Release SE77/01 + ZAP 7701)
Live, Kristinehamn, Club Zebra, Sweden, 19th July 1977 + soundcheck + GSTQ / PV Trondheim 21st July 77

Side One: Anarchy In The UK / I Wanna Be Me / Seventeen / New York / EMI
Side Two: No Fun / No Feelings / Pretty Vacant / God Save The Queen
Side Three: Soundcheck - band only: Anarchy In The UK / Bodies (part) / Pretty Vacant / Liar / Problems / EMI / No Feelings
Side Four: Sonet Records Advert / Holidays In The Sun (soundcheck with John) / John Rotten Interview Vaxjo 23 July 77 / God Save The Queen (Trondheim 21 July 77) / Pretty Vacant (Trondheim 21 July 77)

Notes. Surfaced February 2024. Double album. Initally, 100 copies on blue vinyl, 100 on yellow, and 100 on pink. All were numbered. 25 splatter vinyl copies were produced and offered to those that purchased the full set of the first 3 colours.
A further unnumbered 200 copies on green vinyl followed in March 2024, and a 'final pressing' of 200 unnumbered on red swirl vinyl appeared in April 2024. Each has a different wrap around cover insert. There was also 10 test pressings created over all releases.

Once in a while a bootleg emerges that demands attention. This is one.

Strangely the cover incorrectly states 15th July on the first 3 pressings, although the correct date is given for the soundcheck. This error is fixed on the next 3 pressings (splatter, green, and red swirl).

For the first time ever a genuine recording of the Kristinehamn gig has come to light, recorded via the mixing desk. The LP comprises 9 songs from the gig plus the 8 captured at the soundcheck. The quality is fabulous as are the Pistols themselves, with a mixture of aggression and humour; listen carefully for Sid responding to a shout for Anarchy; "We've already played it you fucking idiot!"

GSTQ fades at the end although it sounds complete. However, the recording of the song cut out on the original tape and has been spliced with the ending from the song performed in Trondheim (included on Side Four).

The soundcheck itself is facinating, as 8 songs are the musicans only and highlight the band in different ways, Paul starring on Liar, Steve on EMI, Sid is solid throughout doing some Anarchy bass lines unaccompanied.

The pick of the bunch however is when John joins in for Holidays: "That sounds really bad... bad, bad, bad. Sorry to be awkward!"

Side four includes a neat interview with John recorded on 23 July in Vaxjo, but the real gems are God Save The Queen and Pretty Vacant recorded in Trondheim 21st July, which have never appeared in their entirety. GSTQ appeared on the recording of Trondheim that was originally part of the Kiss This box set, however it was truncated with the the help of a car crash sound effect. Here it is complete along with Pretty Vacant, unheard until now.

EMI from Kristinehamn has also been included on the 2024 Anarchy In Sweden 7" EP.
This is not the original TMQ label.

Looking For Trouble In Trondheim, 100 copies on yellow vinyl.
Making Trouble In Trondheim, 50 copies on blue splatter vinyl.

Following the mixing desk recording of the Kristinehamn gig (19 July 77) emerging in March 2024, comes the Trondheim gig available complete for the first time. The final two songs from Trondheim appeared complete for the very first time on side 4 of the Kristinehamn double LP. (GSTQ appeared on the recording of Trondheim that was originally part of the Kiss This box set, however it was truncated with the help of a car crash sound effect. Pretty Vacant was previously unheard anywhere).
So, for the first time ever, the show is presented 'complete'.

Sides 3 and 4 are titled Wessex Sessions Vol. 1, which implies a further release from this stable is forthcoming. All the tracks are available on the official UMC Sex Pistols 76-77 4CD set.

Live In The Studio 1977 (no label stated)
Studio.

Side One. Here We Go Again
Side Two. Revolution In The Classroom

Notes. 7" picture disc. Surfaced September 2013. Greek bootleg. Ltd to 30 copies.
This record is a nonsence. None of it is from 1977. Here We Go Again features Paul Cook & Steve Jones only - recorded 1978. Revolution In The Classroom is not by the Sex Pistols, but by the Ex-Pistols (a 'bogus' band set up by producer Dave Goodman).
Difficult knowing where to place this in the bootleg chronology - so put it at the end of 77 / start of 78.

Notes. USA LP. Double album without a foldout cover. Released in 1988, 500 copies. The first record came with yellow & black labels, the second with light blue & black labels. With an A4 xerox insert.
Sound quality of the Atlanta gig is the same/slightly worse than on other Atlanta bootleg albums.

Side One. God Save The Queen / I Wanna Be Me / Seventeen / New York / Bodies / Submission
Side Two. Holidays In The Sun / EMI / No Feelings / Problems / Pretty Vacant / Anarchy In The USA.

Notes. US pressing with European cover(which is probably why the edge of the cover has the number ODD 2230-LP, different from the matrix number).
It is exactly the same matrix number than "First US Show" and " Shock USA". All three records have ODD-TWO A and ODD-TWO B matrix numbers.

The Remixes - Vol. 1 (SPRMX001)

Side One. (Plain white label): God Save The Queen Leftfield 2002 Remix.
Side Two. (Anarchy sign on the label): Anarchy In The UK - B. Beach Breals Remix / Pretty Vacant - Drop Out Orchestra Remix

Notes: Released 2013. 12". Stickered blank sleeve. (Label pictured right).
This is a privately pressed 12", pressed purely to be sold on Ebay. The material on this comes mainly from YouTube. The Pretty Vacant Drop Out Orchestra Mix is a disco track with vocal edits from the Guitar Hero version - 2 versions exist on youtube, (one just the Jones guitar track, and another being Rotten's vocal, with Jones' bass and Cook's drumming).

Never Mind The Demos

Side One: Pretty Vacant / Liar / No Feelings / New York / God Save The Queen / Sod In Heaven
Side Two: Anarchy In The UK / EMI Unlimited Edition / Bodies / Belsen Was A Gas / Holidays In The Sun / Did You No Wrong

Notes. Surfaced March 2014. Demos taken from 35thh Anniversary Universal Music boxset. With one exception, it claims to contain Sod In Heaven (which the band worked on during the US 78 Tour). However, the track is a Religion (PiL) / Action Man (Professionals) mash-up from YouTube.
The cover is a wrap-around affair, not a proper sleeve.
