Belsen Was A Gas / Anarchy In The USA (Rotten Role Records SUK) Released 1978.
Notes. 7”. The first Sex Pistols bootleg single to be released, it coupled two 'new' songs, recorded live at Winterland, San Francisco 14th January 1978.
Labels: Issued with blue, red and green labels. The green labels are the rarest.
Blue labels - USA pressing issued 1978.
Red and green labels - European pressings issued 1978 to 2000. (Dave Fergusson reports to GSTSPs: "I'd point out that the red label is the first pressing from 1978. I bought mine at the time from Shane McGowan when he used to run the Rocks Off record stall in Soho market. It never came in a pic sleeve...")
On certain red label copies, the labels are reversed i.e. Belsen side plays Anarchy and vice versa.
The red label issue has SUK1 & 2 etched in the run-off grooves, but has no cat. number on the label.
Picture Sleeves: All the original copies came in a white bag with a circular hole. However, a number of dealers made their own sleeves, and have continued to do so. Therefore the single has been sold with a number of different sleeves.
