20: Johnny Rotten is on the front cover of Rolling Stone magazine with the headline
"Rock is sick and living in London." The issue includes an article written
by Charles M.Young about the Sex Pistols, the Slits and punk rock. October
21: Paul Cook is interviewed by the French magazine Best. The interview will feature
in the December issue. October
28: Release of the Never Mind The Bollocks album (V2086) on Virgin Records in
the UK. Trouble caused by the album title. Several different versions of the album
are later made. (See the NMTB God Save The Sex
Pistols guide).
November
2: Broadcast of an interview on Radio Luxembourg. Photographer Bob Gruen takes
some (now well known) pictures of the band drinking and having fun in the radio
studios.

17: Promotion for the LP continues. Steve Jones and Paul Cook take part in a signing session at Virgin Records, Sheffield. Steve and Paul then go to the pub next door before catching a taxi to be interviewed on Sheffield's Radio Hallam.
John and Sid travel up from London on the same train but get off at Nottingham. Johnny is interviewed on Radio Clyde, Nottingham. He's also interviewed
with Sid Vicious on Radio 1's "Rock On" programme.

includes an interview with Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotten.
The Evening News
reports that Belsen Was A Gas, played live on the Dutch tour, has shocked Jewish
organisations. The song which was originally written by Sid Vicious when he was
in Flowers Of Romance and re-worked by the Sex Pistols, is about the concentration
camp of Bergen Belsen. December

Queen's Speech" bootleg among others. This is the last gig in the UK until
the reunion in 1996. Parts of the show feature in "The Filth & The Fury"
movie and in a 1998 British TV documentary about the concert. In
1977, the band is interviewed on several occasions by Fred and Judy Vermorel for
their book, originally titled "Sex Pistols", later re-titled "Sex
Pistols. The Inside Story". These interviews are available on The Heyday
tape (Factory Records 1980), re- released on CD by The Boutique Label in 2003. |
