July 1: Steve Jones interviewed by Phil Singleton for www.cookandjones.co.uk.

July 15: The Sex Pistols publicity machine is underway, with a statement by John that the Sex Pistols will play in Baghdad ensuring the US dates obtain some coverage, even in the UK. Both radio and press have run small features over the past few days.

Today's The Sun is a typical example: "Sex Pistols to rock Iraq. Punk legends the Sex Pistols are planning a gig in BAGHDAD. Frontman John Lydon, 47 - alias Johnny Rotten - boasted that he wants to show Iraqi people the "downside" of democracy. The 1970s band, which reformed in 1996, will tour the US this autumn and aim to play the Iraq capital early next year. Lydon, now a property developer, said: "I am definite about it. The red tape is lining up thick and fast but the more they put up, the bigger the scissors. If you're offering the people democracy, offer it in the extreme so they know what they are walking into."

July 27: Glen Matlock is interviewed by Phil Singleton for www.sex-pistols.net.

August 13: Jimmy Kimmel announces that the Sex Pistols perfomance on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, originally scheduled for August 14, then postponed until 15th, has now been cancelled. According to Jimmy Kimmel, the Pistols were due to make "their 1st television appearance in the US in 24 years (sic). They had a problem with visas and couldn't get through immigration." He added: "We've got terrorists in flight school, but can't get an elderly punk band through customs."

August 15: No Sex Pistols, but John Lydon is interviewed on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

August 20: Due to visa delays, Paul Cook arrives in the US on the morning of the first show and gets to the venue in Boston two hours before the start of the gig.
