"Mr David John, the town’s Arts and Entertainment Director, said yesterday:
“This maligned group can act in a gentlemanly manner. They have not held the borough to the contract entered into.
The Sex Pistols’ management has actually thanked our officers for our attempts to present them, apologised for the
difficulties caused and has freed the authority from its obligation to pay the £1,200 they could have demanded." ”
