SCANDINAVIAN TOUR 23rd / 24th JULY 1977
from the archive of Dave Smitham
Introduction
One of Malcolm’s better managerial decisions was to send the Sex Pistols on two week Scandinavian Tour through July 1977 taking in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Not the most obvious of places for Britain’s most notorious band to visit, but at least it gave the band an opportunity to play - denied them in their own country. Record Mirror were first off the mark with this mid-tour report filed by Alf Martin who caught up with the band at Barbarella’s in Vaxco, Sweden. After some standard gig reporting, he concludes “If only it could be Britain.” ... of course we could only agree.
