The Sex Pistols gig played at the Lodestar Hotel, Ribchester Rd, near Blackburn, has for many years been mistakenly dated as 15th September 1976. A local newspaper advert coupled with a copy of the original contract show clearly that the gig actually took place on Wednesday 18th August 1976.

How did this mistake occur? The reason could be due to the NME listing the show in their 11th September edition. According to the advert, the gig was due on Wednesday 15th September. See below.
