John interview for VH-1 / MTV " I don't like words like 'reunited' or 'reunion' — we just come together every now and again, when we feel the time's right," Lydon explained. "This year, the time was right because in England, they were celebrating 30 years of punk, and we let it go all year. After listening to the bands that were putting forth a load of nonsense and getting punk wrong, we thought it was about time we went back and sorted them out, and that's exactly what we're doing."

In addition to the band's seven U.K. dates, a Pistols concert has been scheduled for October 25 in West Hollywood, California — the only U.S. date thus far. Lydon did indicate that, in 2008, the Pistols will remain intact for a North American tour, and are even tinkering with the idea of starting their own festival — which would feature up-and-coming punk acts, stamped with Rotten's seal of approval — comparable to an Ozzfest or Warped Tour." http://www.vh1.com/artists/news/ [thanks Robert & Kathy]

It would sound a bit hokey dokey wouldn't it? " This lead to an incorrect report in the press that he was planning a reggae record.

"Former Sex Pistol John Lydon looked more country than punk as he stepped out in a pair of farmer style dungarees.
The wild singer just needed straw in his mouth to complete his hillbilly look as he strolled around sunny LA.
And judging by his memorable Bushtucker trials in the I'm A Celebrity jungle, 51 year old John certainly would not be scared by a few farm animals."

Yesterday's Sun newspaper (not all editions) had a picture of John Lydon and quoted him as saying he will be releasing a reggae album soon.

Happy birthday John!

Johnny Rotten to Judge Bodog's Battle of the Bands. John Lydon a.k.a "Johnny Rotten" will have a hand in deciding which band will win the Bodog Music $1 million record contract. Bodog Music's $1 Million Battle of the Bands is pleased to announce that the legendary John Lydon (a.k.a. Johnny Rotten) has signed on to be a judge Bodog Music's $1 Million Battle of the Bands.

After participating in over 300 live battle concerts, the 16 bands who remain of the 7,000 entrants, have taken the competition on the road, starting with a stop at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. The final elimination tour and shooting of the Bodog Music Battle of the Bands reality show is now under way. Lydon was a founding member of the groundbreaking punk rock band the Sex Pistols . He then went on to found the successful outfit Public Image Limited .

Lydon offered these words of wisdom to Bodog: "I don't like decaffeinated teabags. The offer to this show came in the season to be jolly (xmas). I don't know who Bodog is. I still don't, but I may in the future. I admire the wit, audacity and touch of genius to entrust me with the future of rock and roll. I do not do judgment. I don't take judgment. But, by the end of this show you'll know what this judge meant. I don't like decaffeinated teabags. P.S. - I always loved live music and these bands genuinely enjoy what they do, and they write their own songs. Thank you. Fresh. Whoever wins Bodog's cash cow contract is well worth it cause every single band in here is worth it. Words not given lightly. Up yours, John Rotten."

With only 16 bands left, which band will rock their way to the million? For more information, including Battle of the Bands tour dates, check out Bodog Music . [Thanks Shonie]
