Introduction
1976 early December: Post Grundy (NME). Being published weekly, the NME collected up the events following the ‘Grundy / Pistols Grunt-in’ some days after the initial furore - with a front cover, the interview transcript and 'Chaos On UK Tour 76' feature. Things had not quietened down as these articles indicate. The Pistols remained unrepentant, Anarchy Tour chaos was unfolding as pondering Town Halls, Universities and the Rank Organisation debated whether the Punk Package should perform ... and there was early talk of the band being dropped by EMI. We also have a Julie Burchill feature on the cancellation of the planned December 4 Derby concert. A subsequent NME edition offered an informative Tony Parsons review of the first Anarchy gig played at Leeds Polytechnic on December 6.
