NME.com reports:"John Lydon revives PiL for winter shows... Lydon is set to revive Public Image Ltd (PiL) for a series of gigs this winter. The band, who have officially been on hiatus since 1992, will play a series of shows in December to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the group's seminal second album 'Metal Box'.
Lydon, the group's only constant member, will be joined by Damned guitarist Lu Edmonds, former Slits drummer Bruce Smith and bassist Scott Firth, who has worked with the likes of John Martyn and Elvis Costello. For an exclusive interview with Lydon on the PiL revival get this week's issue of NME on UK newsstands from Wednesday (September 9). "

Today's Sun newspaper includes an interview with John Lydon where he confirms he is reforming Public Image Limited for a UK tour in December. Extract from The Sun:
"Question: AND that next thing is reforming Public Image Ltd after 17 years away to mark the 30th anniversary of album Metal Box. What's the story there?
John: I was playing our song Death Disco a lot after my dad died and that got me thinking about it. Then all the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle just fell together. The guys were up for it — minus Jah Wobble — and it felt like the right time.

New: Rare poster and flyers from the Pistols cancelled show at The Roxy on Boxing Day 76 and Notre Dame Hall March 77, the show which marked the debut of Sid Vicious.
Next week the two man play, Kurt and Sid, opens in London, staring Danny Dyer as Sid Vicious and Shaun Evans as Kurt Kobain. Runs 9th September - 3rd October. Note, the theatre is small and holds approximately 100 people. To book tickets (and view the poster) visit www.kurtandsid.com

At the BBC Proms concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday (18th August) the crowd of 6,000 were asked to sing along to the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain's rendition of the Pistols' Anarchy In The UK.

The Rich Kids and Public Image Limited are to have their John Peel sessions released on 14th September and 9th November respectively as part of new initiative between EMI and the BBC.
Three installments of releases have been confirmed for Peel sessions recorded between 1977 and 1980:
September 14th: Rich Kids (first John Peel session, October 31 1977), Rich Kids (second John Peel session, March 20 1978), The Stranglers (first John Peel session, March 1 1977), The Skids (first John Peel session, May 16 1978), 999 (John Peel session, October 25 1978)
November 9th: Public Image Limited (John Peel session, December 10 1979), The Skids (second John Peel session, August 29 1978), Gang Of Four (second John Peel session, July 2 1979), Angelic Upstarts (second John Peel session, September 17 1980), Angelic Upstarts (third John Peel session, June 23 1981).
Later releases on December 7th will include The Specials, Ultravox, The Selecter, and Dexy's Midnight Runners.

Steve Jones took part in a celebrity football game yesterday at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The match was followed by a game between Chelsea and Inter Milan in front of 80,000 people. Danny Dyer is to play Sid Vicious in a new play in London's West End. The Human Traffic star will play Sid in Ro Smiles' play Kurt And Sid, opposite Shaun Evans as the late Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain. The play, directed by Tim Stark, opens at Trafalgar Studios on 14 September and runs until 3 October. [thanks Stu]

Japanese CD album replica series 2007. Never Mind The Bollocks, The Great Rock 'N' Roll Swindle, Sid Sings, and Flogging A Dead Horse were released as miniature album replicas in Japan in 2007.
The aim was to re-create the original UK vinyl pressings as closely as possible. The guide kicks off with a look at Sid Sings.
