Around 14,000 here. I checked out ten bands over the weekend but really I am only here to see Public Image Ltd's last show of their American and European Tour.

Five hours each way for me to get here. I get a great second row view on front right of the stage. Bearing in mind they are not headlining, they are playing in daylight, it is not to the PIL hardcore crowd, and they are only down for 60 minutes instead of their usual two hours plus set.... would PIL actually give it 100%? Of course.

In fact its a totally mesmerizing set and more. You cannot take your eyes off John Lydon. Even the younger punters here know they are watching a true punk legend. It is a perfect PIL Best Of festival set list. The band open with This Is Not A Love Song and Poptones.

The overall wall of sound they create is immense. Death Disco ends with John saying "I felt that" as he looked to the sky with thoughts of the death of his mother. Total conviction all the way. The verbals are non stop. The security in the pit have their company name on their t-shirts.They are called APS. John says "is that short for apes?". Even the security smile at that one.

The country's political leaders get some stick; "Two cunts for the price of one". Even the crowd are asked; "where's the rebellion?". They finish their set with the three anthems they usually save for their encores on their own shows; Public Image, Rise and Open Up. A stunning show. As it is the last night of the tour John introduces all the crew one by one by name.
