Rob Wager has been in touch with the following information:
The banner is screen printed onto a roughly cut piece of nylon material. The banner has a loop at the top so that it can be displayed by putting a piece of dowel through the loop. The skirt may have started life as a banner, or been a WB variation using the same material/design.
The full press kit also had a WB NMTB badge and a 'Flowers in the dustbin' WB poster in addition to cartoon poster, and a shrink-wrapped copy of NMTB with the corner 'bullet holed' to stop resale.
The picture below of the entire press kit has a promo stickered copy of NMTB instead.
From what I can gather, a limited press kit, which comprised of the folder, photos and 'story of' cartoon poster was issued to all the magazines, press agencies, etc. The full kit was issued in much smaller amounts to selected radio stations for use as a competition prize.
Also pictured is the 'First US Tour Diary' which was produced in two parts (part one shown) which was a diary of the gigs put together by the WB press office and issued to the media whilst the tour was happening.
Finally, below is a carbon copy of a 'Thanks but no thanks' letter sent from (presumably) a US magazine that had been contacted by an advertising agency, working on behalf of WB. |
