DØGNVILL FESTIVAL, TROMSØ, N0RWAY, REVIEWED
30th August 2008
God Save The Sex Pistols Review by Aina

First of all I would like to thank the Sex Pistols for coming all the way to Tromsø in Northern Norway, north of the Arctic Circle. Over the years Tromsø has had many great concerts, but this gig at the Døgnvill Festival may have been the biggest rock event ever in Tromsø. The whole concert, from beginning to end, was full of raw energy and solid rock music. It was beyond fantastic. When Johnny Rotten pulled his pants down, mooning the audience, and saying "Who says it's cold in Norway?", the crowd of 10.000 people went crazy.

Let me just translate some of the comments posted on the webpages of the Døgnvill Festival after the concert:

"Oh my god, this was a good concert, with lots of shoving and pushing towards the stage, thanks to crazy jumping rabbits right behind me giving me plenty of bruises on my back. It was fabulous to stand in front."

"A supernaturally good concert, and fantastic that Døgnvill was able to get them to Tromsø."

"This is the best concert I've ever been to. Insanely good!"

"A fantastic concert. Definitely the best concert at Døgnvill. These are the boys who can entertain and play unbelievably good music. IMPRESSED J "

"Oh god what a good concert. My dad was the punk rocker in our hometown when he was a teenager in the seventies, he was totally into Sex Pistols, so it was great fun attending the concert with him and shout "God Save The Queen" with him. Thanks to Døgnvill for actually getting Sex Pistols to Tromsø, it was fantastic!"

"I had looked forward to seeing the Sex Pistols on stage, and it was indeed a great experience."

"I assumed that these old punk rockers would lose their balance on stage, but boy was I wrong! A shockingly good concert experience! I loved everything including the boxer shorts. Thanks for coming up to the cold north! The concert was worth all the money I spent on a plane ticket from Oslo !"

"Since the newspapers don't dare to review this concert, I will rate it myself. I give it the highest rating possible. If you don't think this was the greatest concert of all time, you are not a rock'n'roll person"

"This was a great concert. I am 11 years old, and it was so great that there was no age limit at the concert. Even my grandmother loves the Sex Pistols! I give them the highest rating!"

It is just what Norway needs these days, a good dose of Johnny Rotten! It was so refreshing to hear Mr. Rotten say that our only enemy is our government. Nowadays, this is so true in Norway. The Norwegian Government puts all the money from the oil industry into unethical funds abroad while Norwegian schools, hospitals, homes for the aged and universities are on very low budgets. The capitalism in Norway these days is sickening. Furthermore, Tromsø is a town in Northern Norway in an area called Sapmi (Sami Country), and the Norwegian Government has indeed been our enemy for centuries, taking the Sami culture away from us. So thank you for saying it out loud, Johnny Rotten!

And thank you Sex Pistols for honoring us with your visit. "Anarchy in the UK " is still pumping through our blood.
