Duff, Steve, John

1995
March: Steve Jones records a couple of songs with John Taylor, including Feelings Are Good, for John's solo album.

March 10: Las Vegas, The Joint (filmed). Matt Sorum (drums), Duff McKagan (bass), Eric Mesmerize (guitar) and Steve Stevens (guitar), plus additional musicians, play together as "Wayne Neutron". Guests include Seal, Sheryl Crow, Weezer, Bo Diddley and BB King. Steve Jones appears as a guest on Black Leather (guitar and vocals), plus Raw Power and I Wanna Be Your Dog (guitar and backing vocals), the latter two with Iggy Pop on vocals. Billy Idol guests on Shakin' All Over and Rebel Yell.

June: Matt Sorum is approached to help with a benefit show at Johnny Depp's LA club, the Viper Room, in aid of a cancer sufferer. He contacts a number of his celebrity friends, and the Neurotic "Boy" Outsiders are formed, initially for the one show: Steve Jones (guitar and vocals), Duff McKagan (guitar and vocals), John Taylor (bass and vocals) and Matt Sorum (drums).

"I asked John if he'd play bass" said Matt Sorum "because I'd always liked his playing in The Power Station ...Duff's being playing guitar lately, so I asked him if he'd play. Duff knew Steve from mountain biking."

"We rehearsed in the afternoon and did it that night," recalled Duff. "We thought it was cool, everything was good. Good Karma."

However Steve records again with Matt Sorum & Duff McKagan on a version of Alice Cooper's Elected for the Alice Cooper tribute album, Humanary Stew (Eagle Records), released in early '99.
